The Full Story

Rochester Global Refugee Services, Inc. (RGRS) is a 501c3 organization formed in 2014.  Our mission is to implement a sustainable, culturally relevant community plan for New American children and adults relocating to Monroe County, New York that includes case management support, connection to community resources, and access to housing, education, and training.  Our goal is to assist in the transition of immigrant and refugee families by partnering with other not-for-profit and government agencies, to support culturally inclusive programming leading to a financially secure, socially integrated, and self-sufficient lifestyle for New American families.

RGRS has focused our activities since 2014 on advocacy and social justice work and became a 501c3 in 2018, serving Monroe County’s refugee and immigrant community through case management, housing assistance, workforce development, and advocacy through the creation of the New American Advisory Council under Mayor Warren’s office and initiated and hosted the United Nation’s World Refugee Day in Monroe County for the past six years.  This has been an exclusive volunteer effort.

Since 2014 we have been working, in partnership with the City of Rochester, Rochester Police Department, community organizations, area churches, RCSD, and city and county officials
