Established in 2014, the Rochester Global Refugee Services of WNY is a non-profit organization that was founded by a former refugee, Faziri Ndahiro Renzaho, who is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo and who lived in a refugee camp for over eight years in Uganda. After being overwhelmed by the lack of information for new immigrants to America, he decided to volunteer his time as a way to give back while helping them get connected to resources. For that purpose, he established Rochester Global Refugee Services.We aim to promote understanding, advocacy, and bridging the gaps between new American families and their new community and all of its resources.
Mission
Our mission is to aid in the resettlement of refugee and immigrant groups in the United States and international humanitarian response projects by providing case management assistance, job readiness training, resources referral, and connecting them to opportunities that promote self-sufficiency.
Vision
Ensure refugees in our community are educated, socially, and economically integrated.
Provide services that enable a smooth transitioning of the refugee families in poverty to be financially, economically, and socially independent. We provide training and resource information opportunities to have a sustainable lifestyle, career and promote self-sufficiency
