Rochester Global Refugee Services' objective is to build confidence, self-reliance, and a smooth transition process for refugees in our community through programs that are centered around cultural oriented as well first-hand experience. 

Below are programs offered locally as well internationally to aid in safety, integration, and humanitarian response to the needs of refugees.

Local Programs

RGRS has been working so hard to make sure refugee families that are being resettled in our communities are well informed of opportunities and resources available for their smooth transition. Some of the services we offer include but are not limited to: 

  • Case management 

  • Legal support  

  • Interpretation

  • Referrals to our partners that services refugees

  • Housing support 

  • Advocacy for refugees and immigrants rights

International Programs

Rochester Global Refugee Services has been a champion in making this world a better and safe place for humanity. Since 2017, we launch a humanitarian Feeding relief program in Nakivale Refugee Camp in the Western region of Uganda. We supported orphans, widows, and families in most need in the camp through the partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees and other implementing partners.

Currently, RGRS is heavily focused on providing emergency responses to the internally displaced families in the Eastern Region of the D.R. Congo. There has been an ongoing war that and families are fleeing for their lives with no food, shelter or medical treatment. We have been supplying them with:

  • Corn and Nutritious flour

  • Sugar 

  • School materials for children

  • Started Agricultural cooperative 

  • Sanitary pads for women and girls

  • Health/wellness, women empowerment, and economic development  training â€‹
